These are some great shots. I especially like the night shots of the Big Dipper.

I hope yours is a safe 4th of July. Most of my neighbors are up at the lake, so I’ve pretty much got the whole block to myself.

You might want to give the deli one more try in about two months. Today is the closing date for three deli services staff jobs, two kitchen staff jobs and one deli cook job. That’s a lot of turnover. Seems like they should be trained about as well as they’re going to be in a couple of months. And if I am one of them, I guarantee I’ll do a good job.

I was also surprised by the cost comparison. I am trying to get organized to do some of those for the new blog. Even MILK was a better price than Safeway and Albertson’s last I checked. I didn’t realize at first that they are a non-profit corporation so I think that is part of why they are so competitive.

I love the Good Food Store too, but damn it if their deli hasn’t annoyed me for the last time. The consistency of stuff I order vs. the service is way lower than elsewhere in the store.

God, do I love the vegan blueberry muffins. I think they might be made at The Break or Le Petit, I’m not sure . . . but they are awesome.

I did a cost comparison a couple years ago between GFS and my local grocery store and GFS actually came out ahead. That actually surprised me. As a result, we do about 90% of our shopping there.

No, but once I found a really good Mexican restaurant, I got my hopes up. Why would all of their food be good and then they can’t make proper chiles rellenos? It boggles the mind!

I feel the same way about my ‘89 Ford F150. I’ve had it back and forth across the US about 3 times. I’m going to drive it until it won’t drive no more.

That Jolly Green Giant status is in like Minnesota, isn’t it? We passed it on tour last summer.

And I just passed the biggest ball of twine two weeks ago! I was going to stop and take a picture of it on my way back by but missed it and didn’t turn around. Now I wish I had!
